Blora is regency in Central Java Province. The capital has the same name which is Blora. It is situated about 127km to the east from Semarang, right on the border with East Java Province.
This regency is shared a border with Rembang & Pati regency in the north, Tuban & Bojonegoro regency (East Java) in the east, Ngawi (East Java) in the south and Grobogan regency in the west.

Blora regency are consists of both low land and hill area between 20-280 meters high above sea level. In the north part of regency is dominated by hill area that also the series of Northern Limestone Mountain as well as in the south area (Kendeng Mountain) that stretch from the east of Semarang to Lamongan (East Java). The capital of Blora regency is located right on the slope of Northern Limestone Mountain.
Half of Blora regency area are forests, especially on the north, east and south region while low land on the center mainly used as an agricultural purpose (rice fields).
Most of area in Blora regency are lack of water supply, either for drinking and or irrigation during the dry season. On the contrary it becomes a hazardous area during rainy season due to their landslide high risk potencies.
Blora regency is formed by 16 sub-districts which divided into smaller villages. Blora served as a capital.
There are other significant sub-districts in Blora regency such as: Cepu, Ngawen and Randublatung.
Blora is situated on the Inter-Province road that connecting Semarang as the capital of Central Java Province to Surabaya as the capital of East Java Province via Purwodadi. It's actually the 2nd class road, because most of peoples preferred to choose Semarang-Surabaya via Rembang.
Blora also situated on a southern railway connection that linked to most big cities in Java. However, Blora main train station is located in Cepu sub-district therefore peoples often referred Cepu train station.
Except two above, Blora just like any other regencies in Java has a local public transportation such as: bemo, becak, etc.
Agriculture is the main economic sector in Blora regency. While Blora in the forestry sub sector also served as one of the good quality teakwood producer in Java.
Cepu sub-district for a long time is well known as a oil area. It's been exploited since Dutch-Indies era. Once again Blora is becoming popular again due to the recent news about the 250 million barrel discovery. Since March 2006, Exxon Mobil Indonesia is appointed as an operator of that oil field.
Sate Blora, Lontong Tahu, Limun Kawis, Serabi and Moho are Blora traditional foods.
Barongan and Tayub are Blora traditional arts.
